The Waldorf SC will host a supplementary travel try-out for girls in the U9 (under nine years old) age group and boys in the U11 age group.  The birthdate range for the girls age group is August 1, 2000 - July 31, 2002.  The birthdate range for the boys age group is August 1, 1998 - July 31, 2000.

This try-out will occur on July 9th at the Pinefield Park in Waldorf.  Registration will begin at 5:30PM and the actual try-out will begin at approximately 6:00PM.  The try-out will not last for more than a couple of hours.  Please have your child dressed to play soccer (shin guards, shoes, and plenty of water).

Travel soccer is more focused than the recreational league run by the Club.  Being more focused, it is also more competitive.  However, at the U9 age group, the training emphasis is centered around individual player development and individual skill and technique.  As players advance in age, winning gains importance along with the contiunued advancement individually and as a team.

Coaches for the Club's travel teams are required to be licensed through the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association.

In general, travel teams play a nine game schedule in the fall and a nine game schedule in the spring.  Half of the games are played at home in the Waldorf area and half of the games are away.  Most travel teams play at least one tournament in the spring and one in the fall.  Most of the tournaments and games are played within 50 miles of the I-495 beltway, though not always.  Most of our travel teams also play an indoor version of soccer (FUTSAL) in the Waldorf area during the winter months.
