Born in England in 1982, I began playing soccer the moment I could walk. I have been involved with coaching and training children of all ages since 1996. I played at a very high level through my dedication and desire to succeed in football, or as I now know it soccer. I was recognized initially by my country in 1998 when I played for England Boys Clubs in a 4 nation’s tournament in Wales. From that success I went on to play for my county in 1999, winning the most highly regarded prize in youth soccer – the Football Association County Youth Championship. In 2000 I was again honored to play for my country, this time for England School Boys under 18’s. It was with great excitement that my final game with the Under 18’s was held at Wembley in front of 33,000 people. In 2001 I continued my soccer education by coming to America on a soccer scholarship to a Division One soccer program. I graduated in 2005 from Saint Francis University, PA with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. During my senior year I acted as captain and helped lead our team to the playoffs for the first time in school history, this was accomplished with a 10 win season – another first in Saint Francis history.
After graduation I began working towards bettering myself as a coach/trainer by completing numerous soccer courses. My most recent completion is the
• NSCAA Advanced Diploma Coaching Course (Distinguished Pass)
• NSCAA Regional Goalkeeping Course (level 2)
• The Football Association Fitness in Football (level 1)
• The Football Association Psychology in Football (level 1)
• NSCAA State Goalkeeping Course (level 1)
Also in previous years I have completed many other soccer courses, which are below.
NSCAA National Diploma Coaching Course, for which I received a distinguished pass–the highest possible grade (2009). Also in 2009, I completed the Football Association Online Player and Match Analysis Course. My other credentials include the USSF D license New Jersey Soccer, USSF E license New Jersey Soccer Course and USSF F license New Jersey Soccer Course for Soccer Coaching. My coaching awards from England include First Aid certificate (refreshed in 2005), Child Protection Course (refreshed in 2006), Football Association Coaching Award in 2002 and the GNVQ qualification in Sports. Finally, the Junior Team managers Award and Community Sports Leadership Award back in 2000.
My goal as a trainer/coach is to offer my players the best opportunity to better themselves and develop with the help of my guidance and knowledge. I work with players of all abilities and fully understand the need for good technique training before tactical training. I like a team that passes the ball efficiently and accurately before breaking the opposition with affective wide play and crosses. My teams have been renowned for their positive attitude and work rate while the quality of soccer is produced. I am very passionate and come to every training session with energy and great preparation. I love the game and I want my teams to play and act the same way.
Below are a few accomplishments and learning experiences I have been fortunate enough to work with:
Maryland ODP Assistant Coach 2010 – Present
International Touch Soccer 2010 – Present
Coerver Soccer Trainer 2009 – 2010
Director of many summer soccer camps (Tab Ramos Select Summer Camp, Lake Bryn Mawr)
